Once Upon a Christmas

November 23, 2024

Saturday 10am-4pm

We are bringing the spirit of Christmas back to Downtown Perth with our annual Once Upon a Christmas Event!

Wander the streets of downtown Perth and enjoy hundreds of unique shops, eateries and services. Get all of your holiday shopping complete early while enjoying surprises around every corner!

Scattered entertainment will fill the air with holiday cheer. Stay warm and cozy with scattered fire pits and free hot chocolate. Enjoy a horse drawn wagon ride through town, take a photo with Santa, get your face painted, and take part in so many other activities!

This event is FREE for all attendees but donations are always welcome!

Once Upon a Christmas event is the perfect way to kick off the holiday season in Perth.

Our Christmas Stations:

Santa’s Workshop (Code’s Mill – 17 Wilson Street E)

Bring the kids into the magical world of Santa’s Workshop where they will hang out with Mrs. Claus doing crafts, get their faces painted and hair tinseled for the holidays! While the kids enjoy their special time, keep warm with a snack and drink down at Fiddleheads Bar and Grill. Santa’s Workshop is sponsored by Code’s Mill on the Park and supported by Perth Children’s House Montessori School.

Polar Pit-Stop (The Perkins Building at Wilson and Foster)

Starting at noon, enjoy the musical talents of Matt Dickson sponsored by Scott Somerville of Century 21 Synergy Reality Inc. FREE hot chocolate will be supplied by Jazzy’s Brewhaus (while supplies last).

Mistletoe Market (Gore Street between Foster and North)

Check out some unique artisans at our market and get a FREE cup of hot chocolate courtesy of North Folk Cafe (while supplies last). Warm yourself by the wood burning fire and enjoy snow toffee from Salmon River Sugar Bush and entertainment by the wonderful Dr. Kaboom!

Snowflake Station (Crystal Palace)

Immerse yourself in the beautifully decorated Christmas trees while Rubies in the Rough Choir fills you with the holiday spirit.  Sip on FREE hot chocolate from Coutts Coffee Roastery & Cafe (while supplies last) by the fire as you await your turn on a horse-drawn wagon ride provided by Red Gate Arena Farm, sponsored by Lanark Lifestyles.

Take part in a very special opportunity with the WBFIT Indigenous Center‘s Drumming Circle with Grandmother CicaWa Wolf Woman! Learn the basic teaching of the drum and participate as a drummer yourself!

Drumming is a powerful way to connect with Mother Earth. It is one of the ways we communicate our prayers, receive messages, and heal. When we honour the drum wholly we are able to connect with it’s Spirit and through that connection we connect to the heart beat of Mother Earth.

Drum circles will take place at 1:30pm and 3:00pm at Crystal Palace.

Candy Cane Lane (Market Square – Town Hall)

Get your tree cutting arms ready with some axe throwing practice provided by The Axe Shop and then head on over to our special, adult chill zone featuring festive mocktails and cocktails supplied by Thirst Responder mobile bar. Introduce yourself to some of the Perth Blue Wings hockey players, our local fire fighters and police officers, before heading to the bandshell to meet the man himself! Santa will arrive at noon!
